Proving that Bible stories are true…

On July 5th, I’ll be speaking to a group of elementary students about the realiability of the biblical narratives. I would not have much problems proving the authenticity of the history of Israel, the Gospels, and the narratives and epistles of the apostles. The point of contention lies on the pre-Mosaic narratives, like the Patriarchs and the Creation narratives (and don’t forget Job). Read the rest of this entry »

My First Month in Cebu…

A lot has happened during my first month in Cebu city. Together with the other two new pastors in the church, we weren’t prepared for what happened last June 1st – the church’s Reverend submitted his resignation, effective immediately! We were caught off-guarded with the news and were anxious of what’s going to happen to us and the church.

“The Obsolete Moral Compass”

Above was a news link (or click here) by Yahoo! reporting an incident in Hartford, Conn. about an elderly man who fell victim of a hit-and-run driver. It was reported that many bystanders did not do anything and left the poor old man bleeding and dying slowly. Help only arrived shortly after a police car, on its way to respond to an unrelated incident, passed by and stopped to provide first aid to the old man. Read the rest of this entry »
